Densha Terms of Use
Effective October 6, 2026
These terms apply to Densha – Focus Timer (“Densha”, “the app”), made by Robert Maeda. By using the app you agree to them and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies.
The Densha Pass
Densha requires a Densha Pass: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Free trial. The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period ends.
- Lifetime. A lifetime pass is a one-time purchase that doesn't renew.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Coins and items
Coins are earned by completing rides and can also be bought. Coins and everything bought with them (snacks, drinks, charms, IC cards and collectibles) are a limited license to use in the app. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged or transferred, and aren't refundable except where the law requires. Because your progress is stored only on your device, deleting the app deletes your coins and items; purchases of the Densha Pass can be restored, coin packs cannot.
Screen Time
Densha uses Apple's Screen Time features to hold apps you choose during a ride. It's a focus aid, not a parental control or security tool, and it can be turned off in iOS Settings at any time.
Rail information
Routes, stations and times in Densha are for the experience only. Ride times are estimates, not an official timetable; don't use the app to plan real travel. Densha is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any Japan Railways Group company. Rail data is based on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's National Land Numerical Information (railway data), CC BY 4.0, and Wikidata.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse engineer the app, interfere with how it works, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Robert Maeda isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
These terms may change; the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app means you accept the changes.
