Densha Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Densha – Focus Timer (“Densha”, “the app”) is made by Robert Maeda. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: Densha doesn't collect your data. Everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone.
What stays on your device
Your rides, focus time, tags, stamps, coins, Rail Miles, shop items, streak and settings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage and in a shared container its widgets and Live Activity can read. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Screen Time
Densha uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls) to hold the apps you choose during a ride. Apple gives the app opaque tokens for your selection, not the names of the apps or websites, and no information about how you use them. The selection never leaves your device.
Purchases
Subscriptions, the lifetime pass and coin packs are sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; Densha never sees your payment details. The app checks your purchases with Apple's StoreKit on the device to unlock what you bought.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No notifications or reminders.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No location access. Your home city is something you pick, and it stays on the device.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, because we don't have any.
Apple's services
The map uses Apple Maps, and purchases use the App Store. Those services are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
Densha doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
